We Were Tired of Travelling Like Everyone Else.

AERIS was built by avid travellers who were done paying $80 per flight to check a bag, waiting 40 minutes at baggage claim, and handing their belongings to a system they had zero visibility into.

How It Started

A flight from Toronto. A bag that never showed up.

It started with a frustrating but completely ordinary experience: a checked bag that didn't arrive. Two days of wearing the same clothes. A $300 airline credit that didn't cover half the replacement costs. A claims process that took six weeks to go nowhere.

After the fourth time something like this happened across our team — lost bags, delayed bags, $640 in fees on a single family trip — we stopped complaining and started building a solution.

The question we kept asking was simple: why does travelling with everything you need require handing it over to strangers?

The answer, we realised, was that nobody had built a carry-on with enough capacity to make checked luggage obsolete. So we built one. That's AERIS.

The handler swaps your tag
A corrupt baggage handler replaces your destination tag with the tag from a bag filled with narcotics. The swap takes seconds and happens out of sight in the baggage handling area.
Criminal associates collect the drugs
